Notary Public, Apostilles, Marriage Solemnizations, and Justice of the Peace
The RI Department of State is responsible for administering notary public and justice of the peace commissions. The office also issues apostilles, which are legalized documents intended for use outside of the United States, and one-day marriage solemnizations for use in weddings.
