RIDOT Archeology Series No. 171: ADA Improvements to Greene Lane, Middletown, R.I., 2012-2014 | State Archives Catalog
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) are proposing improvements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to Greene Lane (henceforth referred to in this report as "the Greene Lane ADA project area" or "the project area") in Middletown, Rhode Island (Figure 1-1). Under contract to CDR Maguire, lead consultant to RIDOT, the Public Archaeology Laboratory, Inc. (PAL) conducted a Phase I(c) archaeological survey within the project area between December 11, 2012, and April 10, 2013.
The research and fieldwork performed for the archaeological survey provided information regarding the cultural resources within the project area and its vicinity in anticipation of the proposed ADA improvements within the Greene Lane ADA project area. This report details the survey objectives, methodologies, and results, and provides recommendations based on these results.
