The Rhode Island House Bay Trust Study Commission was established by the passage of House Resolution H6577 on July 2, 2003. The purpose of the commission was to study the status of the state’s current system for policy formulation and planning for the environmental management and sustainable economic development of Rhode Island’s bays and watersheds, and to report its finding and recommendations regarding any needed improvements in the system to the General Assembly on or before March 9, 2004.
