Constitutional Convention, 1955
The 1955 convention was held for the limited purpose to address three proposals of amendment to the Rhode Island Constitution; (1) increase in compensation of members of legislature; (2) life tenure for judges of supreme & superior courts & (3) redevelopment & rehabilitation of blighted substandard & unsanitary areas within cities & towns. Collection consists of official stenographic record of proceedings, committee lists, roll call votes, agendas, resolutions, proclamations & personnel engaged.
