Name: Election Laws Study Commission (1957-1958)

Historical Note: Pursuant to 1957 Resolution 56 (H-1036 Substitute A) approved March 15, 1957 by the General Assembly a commission was created consisting of 10 members for the purpose of studying, revising and codifying all of the election laws of the State of Rhode Island.  The commission was directed to report to the governor and submit a written report to the members of the general assembly on or before June 15, 1957 with recommendations and legislation necessary to carry out the resolution.
