Reapportionment and Redistricting Commission Records, 2001-2002 | State Archives Catalog
Much of the redistricting work for the 2000-01 redistricting was hired out to Election Data Services EDS., a Washington based consulting firm.
The state's district boundaries were based on federal census bureau TIGER/Line® files (Topographically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing), which outline census tract ares. The plotting was done from x,y coordinate pairs (vertices) expressed as NAD 83 latitude/longitude, decimal degrees (NAD is a North American geodetic reference system.) Current boundaries are for congressional and legislative districts redrawn with demographic and geographic data from the 2000 decennial census.District boundary files were available in five GIS formats.
