Record of Civil War bounty monies paid / advanced to Rhode Island recruits, veteran volunteers or accredited men mustered into United States service. Includes:
(1) Individual enlistment receipts arranged by regiment, unit or branch of service attached giving date enrolled, camp location, amount received & signatures of recruit or individual authorized for payment, commanding officer, Paymaster General & State Allotment Commissioner respective of amounts deducted / forwarded to family members or dependents.
(2) Regimental & company rolls of bounty installments paid to men in the field with recruit signature or mark upon monies received. May include descriptive information showing age, nativity, residence, occupation, marital status, when, where & by whom enlisted place of accreditation, etc.
(3) Payment orders, receipts, statements, correspondence concerning bounty deductions, requests, claims
