Earliest known record of the colonial government organization detailing settlements upon Aquidneck Island (Portsmouth & Newport).  Includes first meetings of bodies politic, lists inhabitants admitted, general courts of elections, copies of Indian deeds & conveyances of land.  Fairly chronological arrangement with one stray meeting of April 30th, 1663, relative to boundary distinctions between the two towns.
