December 16, 1781, Justices of the Peace ordered to take estimates of damages within respective towns according to the value of articles damages or destroyed specifying the numbers, quantities and qualities of such articles and distinguish between those destroyed in the usual prosecution of the war.  Justices cause affidavits to be made of such estimates and make return and make returns to at the next session of the General Assembly – Acts & Resolves of the General Assembly, 11781, Vol. 21, p. 162); abstract, December Session, p. 21

Feb. 5, 1782, Committee appointed to inquire whereabouts and quantity of stock taken when enemy too possession of Rhode Island in December, 1776 and to report to Assembly at next session – Acts & Resolves of the General Assembly, 1782, Vol. 22, p. 9; abstract, January Session, p. 22

May 4, 1782, Committee appointed for the different towns of the state to estimate damages done by the enemy, in Pursuance to an Act of the General Assembly – Acts & Resolves of the General Assembly, 1782, Vol. 22, p. 46; abstract, May Session, p. 15

December 3, 1782, Esek Hopkins appointed Committee to estimate damages done by the enemy to the public buildings belonging to the state, value of slaves taken.  Paul Allen for providence, Jonathan Russell and Shearsashub Bourne for Bristol, William T. Miller for Warren to estimate dames done to eh property of the inhabitants in their respective towns:  Returns same to Secretary within 30 days;  Jabez Bowen be requested to transmit to the Secretary for Foreign Affairs for the United State the estimates of the Damages done by the enemy within state agreeable to order of assembly – Acts & Resolves of the General Assembly, 1782, Vol. 22, p. 135); abstract, November Session, p. 20
