Rights of the People: A Rhode Island Constitution Established

We preserve and make available for research Rhode Island's historical public records, which date from 1638 to the present. Our reception area also features exhibits that are free and open to the public.

• The Public Records Administration provides records management assistance to state agencies.
• The Local Government Records Program provides similar services to municipalities, including consultation on the preservation and administration of municipal archives.
• The Administrative Records Program manages the rules and regulations filed with the Office of the Secretary of State.
